Add Page Numbers
Stamp clean page numbers onto every page of a PDF.
How to add page numbers
- Add a PDF and press Add page numbers; each page gets its number centered at the bottom edge.
- Change the start value if the numbering should not begin at 1, for example when this file continues an earlier document.
- The numbers are printed in a neutral gray Helvetica, small enough not to collide with normal page content.
- Download the result; your original file stays untouched.
Frequently asked questions
- Where exactly are the numbers placed?
- Centered at the bottom of each page, about 8 mm above the edge, which stays clear of typical footers and print margins.
- Can I skip numbering the cover page?
- Not directly. A practical route: split off the cover with the split tool, number the rest starting at 2, then merge the two files again.
- What if a page already has numbers?
- The stamp is simply drawn on top; on already numbered documents you would see both. Use it on documents that lack numbers.
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. Numbering happens entirely in your browser; the document never leaves your device.
